'Garden Party' has been sculpted by Peter Holland, who will need no introduction to most of our collectors. She reflects all his famous expertise in conveying the drape and texture of fashions in figurines redolent of realistic life and movement. Here, the wonderfully dramatic crinoline gown flares out from a tightly fitted sash and figured bodice into magnificently full and sweeping skirts which fall gracefully to her dainty feet. Their fluid elegance is enhanced by the pattern on her skirts, which Peter has modelled in relief to imitate the texture of lace.
